End-to-end guidance for hose and fitting selection, assembly, validation, and maintenance—engineered for race-proven reliability.

Assembly — Compression (Reusable)
Objective: Build reusable compression hose ends to spec with consistent quality and leak-free performance.
  1. Preparation: Confirm hose/fitting belong to the same family and size. Clean bench and components.
  2. Square cut: Make a clean, straight cut; deburr lightly to minimize debris.
  3. Nut setup (LH on some models): Thread the compression nut onto the hose using its internal thread until it bottoms.
  4. Witness mark: Mark hose at the nut entry to watch for push-out during assembly.
  5. Lubricate & seat: Lightly lube fitting nipple/threads; assemble until fully seated (target ≤1 mm final gap).
  6. Verify: If push-out exceeds the mark, rework (trim and reassemble).
  7. Flush & test: Clean to application standard; pressure-test prior to service.

Replace rubber hoses on a proactive cadence based on duty (e.g., ~5 years is a common baseline). For long-life race duty, PTFE families are preferred.

Assembly — Crimped & Tooling
Safety: Crimping requires trained personnel using approved dies, collars, and settings. Follow your controlled spec.
  • Tooling: Use your approved crimper, die set, and collars for the family/size.
  • Materials: Only use matched hose, collars, and fitting families.
  • Validation: Record lot/batch, crimp diameters, and pressure-test results.

SUPERSTRASSE (CPE) Robust street/track option — service-friendly; plan periodic renewals per duty/chemistry.

METHANOL IS ONLY CURRENTLY SUPPORTED BY FATBOY H-TYPE (NON-SWIVEL) DUE TO THE CORROSIVNESS OF THE FUEL, PRO/SPEC H-TYPE WILL SUPPORT IT IN THE FUTURE WITH FFKM SEAL UPGRADE. USE WITH PTFE HOSE.

NITROMETHANE IS ONLY SUPPORTED BY FATBOY H-TYPE (NON-SWIVEL) DUE TO THE CORROSIVNESS OF THE FUEL, PRO/SPEC H-TYPE WILL SUPPORT IT IN THE FUTURE WITH NBR SEAL UPGRADE. USE WITH PTFE HOSE.

** E85 IS HARMFUL TO RUBBER IN VEHICLE SYSTEMS OVER TIME, TO COUNTERACT THIS DYME RUBBER HOSES LIKE SUPERSTRASSE INCLUDES A CPE LINER THAT PROTECTS THE RUBBER SUBSTRATE FROM ATTACK. OVER TIME THIS LINER CAN BE DEGRADED DEPENDING ON THE FREQUENCY OF USE, HEAT, DAMAGE AND OTHER CONDITIONS. IN GENERAL WE RECOMMEND CHANGING THE HOSE MATERIAL AT LEAST EVERY 5 YEARS AS A PREVENTATIVE MEASURE, AND FOR RACING PURPOSES MORE FREQUENTLY, TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SITUATION. E85 CAN ALSO MIGRATE INTO THE MOTOR OIL OF THE CAR AND AFFECT OIL HOSES OVER TIME, PLEASE BEAR THESE FACTORS IN MIND WHEN SELECTING A HOSE MATERIAL, AND IF IN DOUBT, ALWAYS SELECT A PTFE SOLUTION. 

*** BRAKE FLUID IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY FITTING OR ADAPTER THAT HAS AN FKM (VITON (R)) SEAL, PLEASE USE NON SWIVEL TYPES OF FITTINGS AND A COMPATIBLE PTFE HOSE.
