Imagine having a dream that you have fought for your entire life.
Pouring your blood, sweat and tears into getting to a place where the door to that dream is finally within your arms reach, but the only threat that lays before you now, is the price tag on the key to unlocking it.
Dion Pitt is a promising young driver who has given everything to get where he is today. Fighting hard throughout the 2023 season of the Toyota 86 Championship to achieve everything he set out to do and more. Dion stepped out onto the track perceived as the underdog. With a limited budget, minimal guidance, little to no testing, and no room for error. All Dion had to rely on was the talent that his passion for the sport produced and the dream that he was chasing.
The promising young driver turned heads with his need for speed and talented driving from the moment he debuted in the 2023 Toyota 86 Championship, accomplishing podium finishes repeatedly throughout the season, despite the limited support he had to back him in his fight.
As many of us know, the cost of a career in motorsport is not one for the faint-hearted, and the painful truth is that this is often the reason we see many up-and-coming superstars with the opportunity ripped away from them, forcing them to walk away from the dreams to which they have dedicated their lives to.
With the very last of his budget, Dion gave everything he had in the second to last round of the championship, battling against a plethora of hungry drivers to step onto the podium not just once, but twice. Finishing the weekend in P1 of the final race in Manfeild at Circuit Chris Amon.
Now approaching the final round of the Toyota 86 2023 Championship to be held at Hampton Downs on the 5th – 6th of May, Dion is sitting in third position on the leaderboard. Closer to achieving his dream than ever before.
The only obstacle that now lies before him, is the empty budget and the cost needed for repairs, labour, tyres, entries, and other surrounding costs. Dion and the team have done everything we can to get him through the championship and we have now reached our very last resort.
